Adrian Coates
Growing up in the church, as the son of a pastor, both fueled Adrian’s love for God, but also his frustration with nominal Christianity. These early formative years proved catalytic for a lifelong desire to see faith in Christ taken beyond the bounds of church walls and integrated with all of life. Together with his wife Michelle, he has worked in Youth With A Mission for the last twenty-five years, in various capacities around the globe (three kids in tow), but always with a focus on educating and equipping Christians for living vocationally in the life of the world. Adrian holds an undergraduate degree in theology and philosophy, a Masters in Theology (interdisciplinary and arts concentrations) from Regent College in Canada, and a PhD in the Aesthetics of Discipleship (connecting everyday sensory experience with faith formation), completed under the supervision of John de Gruchy at the University of Cape Town. Adrian is currently also a research fellow in Theology with the University of the Free State. Adrian and Heidi are representing KRUX in the Cape Town community. Key words: Theology, culture, faith-life integration
